Ocean Island Suites en Victoria

I'm giving OI Suites a 5 star review because the service, price and location could not be beat. Located amongst the beautiful heritage houses of James Bay, only a couple blocks from Beacon Hill Park, Dallas Road and the beach, a quick 12 minute walk to downtown Victoria and a 10 minute walk from all major bus routes. There is off-street parking for 3 on a first come first serve basis and parking was never an issue. The back yard, deck and garden were beautiful. It's dog friendly and they didn't think twice about taking my 40 kg dog and I for a months stay. Keo and Niko were extremely accommodating and anytime I needed anything, they responded almost immediately and provided it asap. The suite is located in an old heritage house so expect the quirks and slight wear and tear of an older house but that is 100% part of it's charm. My large fully furnished suite was way cheaper and quieter than a tiny hotel room, the bed was super comfortable and clean, check-in was extremely easy and communication was top notch prior to and during my stay. Would not hesitate to stay there again!

Easy walk to downtown. Shops, coffee shops and groceries nearby. We stayed in the Burma suite which is 2 large rooms, one with a queen bed and the other with kitchen, TV, and table and chairs looking out over the garden. Though large the bedroom is sparsely furnished and dimly lit at night partly due to missing bulb in one of the lamps. Suite has lots of natural light in the daylight hours. Kitchen is well equipped including a coffee grinder, but unfortunately no coffee maker of any kind. We requested a coffee maker by e-mail (no staff on premises) but none materialized over our 3 day stay. The couch is uncomfortable for watching TV - more like a padded bench.||I wouldn't say it is a cozy place but it was clean, bed very comfortable and overall our stay was pleasant enough.

Dirty dustpan stored on open rack above clean towels. Dirty towels stuffed in bathroom drawer. Soap the size and thickness of a loonie. We left windows open to air out room, but that stench is ingrained somewhere. Oh yeah, garbage bag of previous guest left outside of door, in lobby. No call to the main office was going to get that room unskunked in an hour. Even longer term tenant said the rot smell was always there. Unbelievable. Protect your health and stay elsewhere. Main bed was extremely comfy, second pullout bed was painful to sleep in.

This was a very relaxing experience. The suite was in a beautiful heritage home in a quiet neighborhood on a tree lined street just a few minutes walk from the inner harbor and the gardens of Beacon Hill Park. The kitchen was well equipped....lots of hot water, good wifi connection. Please be aware that the check in and key pick up is at a different location downtown (at the hostel) but still very easy access and helpful staff. This is not a five star hotel but a quaint old home with original wood floors, crown moldings and lovely stained glass accents in the windows.

La situation du logement est plutôt pratique avec un arrêt de bus proche et des commerces à 600m. Le parking dans la rue n'est pas trop compliqué.|La rue est très jolie avec plusieurs maisons typiques.|La maison est jolie et contient 4 logements.|Nous étions dans la suite 1 qui est spacieuse avec une grande cuisine.|L'intérieur est sympa mais l'ensemble est un peu vieillissant.|La salle de bain est propre mais en plastique. C'est le gros point faible.|Le lit est confortable.|On entend un peu les pas quand les autres voisins marchent.|Très bon rapport qualité/prix.

We stayed in suite 1 at the front of the house for three nights. The house was in a quiet neighbourhood, five minute walk to grocery store and nearby restaurants, ten-fifteen minute walk to the harbour. Great location! Suite included private bathroom with combination shower-bath, fully equipped kitchen, tv, and wi-fi. Cute backyard that is available for use by all suites. Not a lot of parking available in the driveway but street parking available. Would definitely stay here again when travelling to Victoria!

The best thing about this hostel is the atmosphere, they really work hard to bring everyone together. I had many fun nights at the bar meeting international and locals and their prices are the best in Victoria. All the managers (Ange, Tabea, Rie and the marketing team Tanya and Brian) are very friendly and always willing to help. They provide lots of information about Victoria and their rooms are the perfect mix in between price and comfort! Will be definitely staying here again. Thank you so much for making my stay feeling like home!
