Portage West Apartments en Victoria

Our experience living at Portage West has been extremely positive. The amenities are many - the sparkling heated pool, gym, private dock has great views, the shared kayaks, and bike storage. The community is great and everyone we met has been so nice and friendly. What really makes it a great place to live is the landlord and management company. Dave, the on site manager, made the whole rental experience easy and seamless! Any time we had a problem Dave and management company have always been so quick and friendly to respond. We loved living here and have recommended it to all our friends who were looking for a place! If we hadn’t needed a bigger space, we would have definitely stayed renting at Portage West.

Great place to live! Dave and the team take care of the property very well and create an environment where you can make friends with others and have your own private space. Pool, BBQ, gym, and kayaks all make an awesome addition to Victoria living in an ideal location. Pet friendly!

We lived here in one of the one bedroom + flex apartments. Super nice and clean, awesome people and landlord (Dave). The pool area is an added bonus + the landlord would do BBQs for the tenants which gave the place a really friendly vibe. They also have really awesome security so I always felt super comfortable on the property even when taking my dogs out in the evening. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to rent!

I can’t say enough great things about my time staying at Portage West. The amenities were a nice bonus - the pool is so beautiful and has great views, the shared kayaks were a lot of fun as well. It’s so nice having new amenities and appliances, all have worked well for us with no issues. The community here is great and anyone who we’ve met have been so nice and friendly. The biggest thing for me is the landlord and management company. Dave is so great and has been so awesome to have as a landlord. It’s so tough to find a positive landlord experience in Victoria with the low rental vacancy rate and Dave makes the whole rental experience so awesome! Any time we’ve had a problem the landlord and management company have always been so quick and friendly to respond. We love living here and would/have recommended it to all friends looking for a place! It’s great for professionals and young families. If we didn’t purchase a place in town, we would have definitely stayed renting at Portage West.

I loved living at Portage West and moved only because I got a great job in Vancouver. I experienced the landlord (Dave) to be professional, fair, respectful and available if something came up. Amazingly maintained buildings and grounds with modern renovations in the suites and great appliances. Outdoor pool right on the Gorge Waterway with BBQ’s on the pool deck…. fitness center AND pet friendly! By far the best rental place I have lived in Victoria. If work should bring me back to Victoria I will absolutely be in contact with the landlord to get into another suite.

I have LOVED my time living in a studio apartment at Portage West. The apartment was the perfect size for my cat and I, and they are so quiet. The location is fantastic. There is a grocery store walking distance, a gas station across the street, but best of all it is right on the Gorge so you get the most beautiful views. I spent my entire summer at the pool and at the BBQ, which lead to me meeting quite a few other tenants. The entire place has a huge community feel to it. The property manager, Dave, has done a great job at screening for tenants who all value community. Dave is honestly the best property manager I have ever had. He really cares about everyone living at Portage West and that is very clear - he keeps well maintained, he is friendly, he is thoughtful, and a bonus: he always lets you pet his dogs when you see him around! Portage West is everything and MORE that I could have wanted for an apartment.

My girlfriend and I downsized from a significantly larger place to Portage West. It was one of the best decisions we've made in terms of choosing a place to live. The location itself is excellent. Close to grocery stores, convenience store right across the street, major transit stop right outside and (since we have a dog) you couldn't ask for a better place to go for walks than the Gorge waterway. The complex is pet friendly and neighbours are friendly (They do a great job of screening for good tenants). There is a pool, a gym and plenty of other recreational options for tenants. Seeing as how we were downsizing, we were concerned about moving into a smaller space and how we would adapt. The layout of the one bedroom suite we had was fantastic. Even though it was a smaller space, every inch was optimized to allow us to feel at home! Appliances were great quality and showers and sinks all had great water pressure. The Property Manager, Dave, is one of the best I've ever had. On the few occasions I had to contact him, he was always very quick to respond and every interaction was positive, regardless of the issue. He really does his best to ensure that everyone living at Portage West has a great experience, rather than only focusing on making sure that rent gets paid on time. We are only relocating due to a job opportunity in another city, otherwise, we likely would have lived here for years! I can honestly say that should life bring me back to Victoria, I will reach out to Dave and Portage West as my first attempt at securing a rental. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Portage West is an amazing gorge front home, it’s handy to all amenities yet walking along the gorge walkway and being so close to the water is an unbeatable feature. The owner and property manager, Dave, is the best! He’s very thoughtful, helpful, and keeps the property clean and maintained. Having a pool and gym access is a big bonus too! All round a wonderful place to live in Victoria! Thank you Dave!
