Hostal B&B en Punta Arenas

Fui a veranear a las Torres de Paine y para aprovechar de conocer Punta Arenas me quede unas noches, y caí en este Hostal... la experiencia no fue positiva, las sabanas estaban viejas y sucias, el desayuno incluido escaso y solo duré una noche... porque por suerte encontré otro hostal con sabanas limpias para quedarme!! Obviamente, no lo recomiendo...

Although we arrived late, we were warmly welcomed. ||||The staff helped us find a busticket late in the evening for our trip to Ushuaia without even asking.||||The rooms are very clean and spacious.||Also the bathrooms are very nice with good and warm showers. ||||The wifi works perfect and we were in room 2 next to the entrance and could lock our door very well contrary to earlier posts on this site.||||The only thing less good was the noise from the street late at night but that is not something this hostel can do anything about.||||I must not forget to mention Sonia who makes good breakfast with scrambled eggs everymorning!||||We had a real nice stay for 3 days in this hostel.

Le gros défaut de cet établissement, c'est le manque de chauffage. Il est compensé par une literie de qualité et très douillette qui contrebalance largement le froid ambiant. Nous avons occupé une chambre avec lit matrimonial. Située au premier étage, elle dispose des sanitaires au même niveau et très propres. C'est au rez de chaussée qu'il faut traverser la cuisine pour avoir accès aux WC. L’eau est chaude. L'ensemble est simple mais décoré avec soin. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. On a une cuisine à disposition. Le centre ville est accessible à pied. On stationne dans la rue ou sur le trottoir devant un garage. Le prix est correct. Accès Wifi.

El lugar bien para el precio, el personal amable y dispuesto a ayudar en lo que necesites aunque no es muy entrenado. La primera noche estuvimos en una habitación sin baño privado, las siguientes en una muy espaciosa con baño privado. ||||El arriendo del auto no es barato ni cómodo, luego de un arriendo de nueve días nos cambiaron el acuerdo y obligaron a devolver el auto mucho antes de lo considerado, solo por querer cobrar 30mil pesos más. Hay mejores servicios en Punta Arenas.

We not only had no lock on the bedroom door, it was right next to the front door on a main road! The door was also fristed glass, so if you like a normal level of privacy, i suggest you stay elswhere. The bathroom was at the back of the kitchen so in the morning when you wake up and need a wee, you have to walk past all the other guests sitting down for breakfast to get to the loo!||Not a great find, but i guess it was cheap.

Wir sind insgesamt 4 Tage im Hostal B&B in Punta Arenas gewesen und haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Wir haben diese Oase zentrumnah nur durch Zufall entdeckt. Das Personal und der Besitzer, dem ebenfalls ein Backpacker Hostal gegenüber gehört, sind sehr sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Wer ein Zimmer mit privatem Bad sucht ist hier allerdings an der falschen Adresse. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber, ebenfalls die Gemeinschaftsbäder und die Gemeinschaftsküche, in der morgens ein leckeres Frühstück gereicht wird. Die familiäre Atmosphäre läd zum längeren Verweilen ein - auch wir haben unseren Aufenthalt noch einmal verlängert. Außerdem gibt es im ganzen Haus WIFI und es stehen zwei PC`s im ersten Stock zur freien Verfügung. Das Einzige was man kritisch erwähnen muss ist, dass das Haus ein bisschen hellhöriger ist, sprich wenn man das Zimmer direkt neben den Computern hat, hört man das Tastaturgeklimper, was nachts ein bisschen störend sein kann. In den anderen Zimmer ist dies aber nicht der Fall.

Das B&B sieht von außen recht unscheinbar aus. Die Innenräume scheinen aber zum Großteil erst kürzlich rennoviert zu sein. Im oberen Stockwerk gibt es schöne Doppelzimmer mit gemeinsamem Baderaum und Toilette. Beides nagelneu und sehr ansprechend gemacht. Gemeinsame Küche nutzbar im Erdgeschoss. 2 PC sowie WIFI in bester Qualität. 20-25TSD sind für ein DZ nicht gerade billig aber wenn man mal ein paartage erholen will, dann kann man das im B&B ganz gut machen. Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zum B&B gehört auch das barefoot backpacker - dort werden auch schöne Touren in die Region angeboten.

It was a nice find among other much more expensive options in the same street. The hostel is an old charming, 2-storey building. It is super well-located, nicely decorated, newly opened (only 5 months at time of stay), clean room and comfortable bed, with decent breakfast and kitchen use. The bathroom was shared between 2 rooms so it was perfectly fine.||||However the wifi was working half the time during our 3-night stay (despite efforts to resolve promptly), it should be ok by now. Our room on the groundfloor was quite bare with almost no furniture except for a bed and a chest of drawer, we felt we lacked hooks / hangers to hang towel / clothes, and bedside tables for our night stuffs (all was on the floor). So it was quite minimallist.||||Rooms are generally noisy from stairs squeaking or guests talking in common areas (our glass-frosted bedroom door lets sound and light pass easily). Doors cannot be locked (from inside or outside) and the main entrance door is opened with an "under-the-mat key". It may be a general practice in Punta Arenas due to high safety standard in the city but, still, we were not used to that.||||Overall, it was still good value for money comparatively to other options in the same street.
